  • 250ml red wine vinegar
  • 250ml red wine
  • Onion, carrot, celery
  • Bay leaf, cloves, peppercorns
  • Raisins, gingersnap cookies

Description

Sauerbraten is a traditional German pot roast, marinated in vinegar and spices before being slow-cooked and served with rich gravy.

Instructions

  1. Marinate beef in wine, vinegar, and spices for 2–3 days.
  2. Sear meat and simmer with marinade and vegetables for 2–3 hours.
  3. Add crushed gingersnaps and raisins to thicken gravy.
